The international congress “Brasil and European Union Forum on Smart Cities” held in São Paulo, Brazil, belongs to a series of actions led by the European Commission to promote the exchange of ideas and the development of future collaborations between Europe and other countries.
Among the goals of this smart city event, we found the mobilization of the stakeholders from Brazil at any level (federal, state, local), as well as those in charge of public services, companies, civil society and citizens. During the event, relevant aspects of the smart and sustainable cities agenda of the European Union and Brazil were addressed, including key challenges such as efficient and sustainable transport and mobility management; information for citizens; waste management; security energy efficiency; or smart public infrastructure, etc.
In the event, my participation as a guest speaker was the presentation of the work carried out in the SmartSantander project.
