The congress “Mobile Networks and Management”, also known as MONAMI, has been held annually since its first edition in Athens in 2009. In 2017 the congress reached its eighth edition, and has been held in the city of Abu Dhabi, in the United Arab Emirates.
Throughout its different editions, the congress has the main objective of bringing together several of the main stakeholders in the existing solutions for mobile networks to promote competitiveness and collaboration among them. In addition to mobile networks, the congress also includes network services management and virtualization as topics of interest.
I have participated in the MONAMI 2016 (8th EAI International Conference on Mobile Networks and Management) to present a conference paper titled “A Solution for Tracking Visitors in Smart Shopping Environments: A Real Platform Implementation Based on Raspberry Pi”. Within this paper I proposed a solution to track visitors in a market through the analysis of IEEE802.11 probe requests frames sent by the smartphones. This solution used a set of Raspberry Pi to process the frames and deliver it to a server, where the location algorithms where deployed.
The paper presented in this conference can be found within the publications section from this web.
Apart from enjoying many fruitful discussions with some colleagues from the event, we had the opportunity of visiting the desert from Abu Dhabi and enjoying a great night.
